Kennel Licences

In order to have a kennel in South Bruce Peninsula, the property where you would like the kennel must be zoned for the use.  Kennels are not a use that is automatically permitted in any zone in South Bruce Peninsula.  Any use of property to have a kennel would require a Zoning By-Law amendment.  Please contact Bruce County Planning to discuss zoning amendments. 

Once it is established that the zoning of a property permits a kennel, you must get a kennel license.  You also have to make sure that you comply with the Dog Regulating By-Law.  Section 9 of the Dog Regulating By-Law provides the rules for kennels.

Kennel Fees

The Town Fee By-Law contains fees which are required to be paid in order to be licensed as a kennel.
