Community Improvement Plan

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is creating a new Community Improvement Plan (CIP). This plan is designed to help make our town even better by supporting important development and revitalization projects. These projects will align with our town's priorities and those of Bruce County, aiming to improve private lands throughout South Bruce Peninsula.

What is the CIP?

The CIP will allow more businesses and property owners in our town to join Bruce County’s Spruce the Bruce Program. This program helps spruce up our community with various projects and improvements. With the CIP, the town and Bruce County can offer financial incentives in special areas called Community Improvement Project Areas (CIPAs). These incentives will support future development and investments in our community and fall under the Spruce the Bruce Program.

Grants Available

Under the new CIP once approved, there are several types of grants available to help improve our town. These include:

• Community Marketing: Promoting our town to attract more visitors and businesses.
• Streetscape Beautification: Making our streets look more attractive with better lighting, plants, and decorations.
• Community Signage: Putting up signs to help people find their way around and learn about our town.
• Destination Infrastructure and Active Transportation: Building and improving places for people to visit and making it easier to get around on foot or by bike.

New Grant Opportunities

In addition to the existing grants, the new CIP will offer expanded grants in these exciting areas:

• Agri-food Innovation: Supporting new ideas in farming and food production.
• Business Accessibility and Adaptability: Helping businesses become more accessible and adaptable.
• Product and Experience Development: Creating new products and experiences for residents and visitors.
• Residential Improvement: Improving homes and residential areas in our town.

Our Goal

The goal of the CIP is to support the revitalization of buildings and properties, public spaces, and experiences in South Bruce Peninsula. We believe that by working together, we can make our town an even better place to live, work, and visit.
