The Town Clerk, Deputy Clerk,Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer and Planning/Administrative Assistant are commissioners. A commissioner only has the authority to administer oaths and take affidavits.
This is not the same as a notary public. We do not have the authority to sign as a notary public.
If you need a commissioner sign a document, visit Town Hall during regular office hours. You will need to bring at least one piece of photo identification. If the document to be commissioned is not in English, you must bring a translator who will be required to affirm that the translation is correct. We can only commission documents for the person who attends in person (ie.we cannot commission for someone who has already signed the document and does not sign in front of the commissioner).
We cannot commission documents which are for legal cases against the Town, its's staff, Council, volunteers, contractors or agents.
There is a fee for a commission. Please contact us regarding the current fee.
