South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department SCAM ALERT

We’ve been made aware of a phone scam targeting residents in our community. Individuals are calling residents claiming to represent the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department, asking for $500 donations via credit card or e-transfer.

Please be advised: This is a scam.
The South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department does NOT solicit donations by phone and would never ask residents for money in this way. Fundraising efforts have only ever involved partnerships with local community businesses.

The OPP have been notified. If you receive a call like this, do not provide any personal or financial information. Report the incident to the OPP non-emergency line  1 888 310-1122 or to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca.
