South Bruce Peninsula Storm Update 5

The next update will be issued April 2, 2025. 

Hydro Outage:

Areas of South Bruce Peninsula continue to be without power.  Hydro One has advised that this morning, restoration is focused in the Red Bay and Howdenvale areas, then they will be transitioning to the Purple Valley area.  Some areas of South Bruce Peninsula may be without hydro until April 2^nd.

The Wiarton Arena is open to all members of the public. 

Location:  526 Taylor Street, Wiarton

• Tuesday April 1        9am to 8pm
• Wednesday April 2   9am to 8pm
• Thursday April 3       9am to 8pm (tentative date if hydro is not restored)

ESSO Gas Station in Sauble Beach – Open everyday 7am-9pm

Hepworth UPI Gas Bar – Open daily from 7am-8pm and 8am-8pm on weekends

 Carbon Monoxide Safety Reminder: 

With increased generator and alternate heat source use, please remember:

• Never run a generator indoors or in enclosed spaces like garages
• Test to ensure carbon monoxide detectors are working properly. 

Road Closure and Road Conditions:

• Sideroad 15 is closed between Bruce Road 8 and Spring Creek Rd due to flooding. 

Public Works staff continue to clear storm debris from the roads.  They are also monitoring flood prone areas.
